Magne’s 10 top A-HA SONGS
1. ”Scoundrel days”.
This is the song that I’m proudest of having co-written. I have memories of it taht go all the way back to my grandfater’s old jazz guitar.
2. ”The Sun Always Shines On TV”.
Here I think we found a pop-music formula that added something nem. Epic and strong - melodic and riffy, with an undeniable energy.
3. ”Stay on these roads”.
An unexpected and unusual but great collaboration between Morten and me, in which Paul came in toward the end.
4. ”Take on me”.
Hard not to include this - with the exception of weaknesses in the lyric, it’s unpretentious pop at its best.
5. ”Hunting High And Low”.
Paul at his very best.
6. ”Bandstand”.
The last real songwritting collaboration between Paul and me. It showed me late in the day that we were still able to make exciting music together.
7. ”Lifelines”.
A song I feel I’ve always written, but which didn’t come until it was ready.
8. ”Minor Earth Major Sky”.
The first time one of my songs started with a strong conceptual title. This album also marked the beginning of my lyric writing.
9. ”Manhattan Skyline’.
Full-on a-ha ambition. A song by Paul and one by me combined into one - our first pop symphony.
10. ”Living a boy’s adventure tale”.
Simple pop, full of longing, about inocence and lost time.

And today I can see clearly how I can’t live without a-ha. Again, I realize that I need them to live, to stay well. It’s like I get better when I listen to a cd or the meaning of a song for me.
For these and other reasons, I don’t want to forget you a-ha, ‘cause you make the difference in my life just making part of it, no matter where I go or what I do, my world is more beautiful when I hear and ”live” your songs.
